PTFCF Leonardo Co Scholarship Fund

(Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy Degree completion grant)

TThe Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation (PTFCF), in honor of the plant conservation work of Leonardo L. Co, and with the aim of encouraging studies consistent with Leonard's work is offering scholarships and financial assistance for Masteral and Doctoral degree scholarships.

To be eligible for support the applicant must be a resident of the Philippines and attend a reputable academic institution that offers the eligible course. The applicant may also conduct field research in any of PTFCF's project sites.

   Guidelines

  1. Application shall be through a Letter of Intent (LOI) sent to PTFCF highlighting the applicant's eligibility with the following attachments:
    • Approved research outline with indicative plan of research
    • Endorsement of adviser
    • Endorsement of from head of institution or organization where he/she is employed or from the Dean of the College where the applicant graduated
  2. A committee shall evaluate the applications. Such evaluation will include an interview.
  3. The selected applicant shall be endorsed for approval to the PTFCF Board of Trustees.
  4. The selected applicant shall signify acceptance of the terms and conditions of the scholarship grant by signing a Scholarship Agreement.
  5. The award shall be deposited in the bank account of the scholar.

    Eligibility

    The concept proposal should contain the information below:

  1. Declare a major (M.S.) or doctorate (Ph.D.) in plant systematics, botany or ethnobotany.
  2. Complete a full-time academic load.
  3. Maintain a respectable cumulative grade average.
  4. Sign a Scholarship Agreement with the PTFCF.
