The Foundation was established under two bilateral agreements between the Governments of the United States of America and the Republic of the Philippines under the US Tropical Forest Conservation Act.
The principal objective of the Foundation is to provide grants to projects that aim to conserve, maintain or restore tropical forests in the Philippines
